Happy New Year! A toast to inspiration, development, love, family and friendship!
2016 has been full of exciting and challenging projects. Some highlights I would like to share in this blog.
Manon Lescaut and Parsifal at the Dutcht National Opera
Being on stage with the big names, with those who show and share their experience. It were two productions of Watch and Learn. To see how Eva-Maria Westbroek and Thomas Oliemans build their character with Andrea Breth, to watch how the regie of Pierre Audi builds upon very clear and subtle movements that will learn you once again that less is more. I fell in love with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. Under the baton of Marc Albrecht they brought the music of Wagner to life in a Parsifal I will not soon forget.
During the production of Manon Lescaut I had a very nice intervieuw with Jordi Kooiman. if interested you can read it here (only in dutch)
On the 22nd of October there was a live recording of Manon Lescaut broadcasted by Radio 4 in the porgamm NTR Operalive. On their website you can find the fragment of the Madrigale 'Sulla vetta tu del monte', click here.
I am very much looking forward to a continuation of a wonderful and challenging year! I am very grateful for the trust and opportunities that have been given by the Dutcht National Opera, my collegues, my coaches, friends and family.
2017 starts with new repertoire to study and some auditions to prepare. Scores on the table of Johannes Passion, Verdi Requiem and a new composed opera 'De Grens' which will have première on the 22nd of April. More news about this project will follow soon.
